Visions of the Future: Youth Takeover of ‘Is This Tomorrow?’

Whitechapel Gallery, 4 May 2019

The exhibition Is This Tomorrow? (2019) features experimental propositions from some of today’s leading architects and artists responding to issues we face in the 21st century from natural resources and migration to technology and spirituality. Their collaborative and experiential projects offer new perspectives on the future.

Inspired by the exhibition young people and alumni from Whitechapel Gallery, Community Music - University of Westminster and Siobhan Davies Dance lead a gallery takeover of workshops, performances, music, tours and pop-up installations exploring their visions of the future. Developed in collaboration with artist-architect Freddy Tuppen and designer Tessa Silva of the architectural collective STORE Projects and musicians from The Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment. The event commemorates 10 years of the Gallery’s youth collective, Duchamp & Sons.
